Templates - Extreme Charts
Extreme Charts comes preloaded with five templates that can be put to use right away or tweaked to fit the individual needs of the trader. They offer a good avenue by which technical analysis can be conducted before a stock is bought or sold. The templates can be adjusted and modified to fit the individual user's needs.
The preloaded templates are:
No. 1: Price and volume. This simple chart shows how the stock has performed over the last six months. The volume is displayed at the bottom in the form of bars, with green indicating bullish days and red indicating bearish days. A moving average for volume runs across the chart, showing the analyst if the volume was particularly high or low.
No. 2: Stochastics. A six-month price chart is featured at the top third of the page. The middle pane shows Stochastic, an indicator which shows points where a stock may be overbought or oversold. The volume is displayed at the bottom, just as it is on the first template.
No. 3: Moving average and MACD. A six-month price chart is featured on the top of the page, with three moving averages placed on top of the chart. The moving averages can be used to show trends and identify support and resistance levels. The bottom of the chart features MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence), which can sometimes show when a stock is ready to switch direction.
No. 4: Bollinger Bands, RSI, CashFlow Accumulation. A four-month price chart is seen at the top of the page, with Bollinger Bands placed on top. This shows volatility and points when a stock could be ready to change direction. RSI (Relative Strength Index) also indicates when a stock may be overbought or oversold. CashFlow Accumulation shows the amount of money that's flowing into the stock, which can indicate bullishness and bearishness.
No. 5: Long-term averages, Percent R and Seasonals. A six-month chart is at the top of the page, along with a pair of long-term moving averages, which can sometimes be important places to find support and resistance. RSI will hook up or down to indicate a potential trend reversal. The season indicator shows how the stock has performed on that particular date.
